Guidelines for robust custom Pogo-Pin Cassettes (PPCs).

Clamp-down detect

• Recommended pin: DDTP00, active-low

Electrical

• Don’t connect PLT_GND with DUT_GNDx

• Use separate DUT_GNDx if possible

• Prefer DATP00…DATP06 for electrical measurements, avoid the (multiplex) RATPxx signals

USB

• Embed a USB hub in the fixture, if the DUT is a USB device or mutiple USB peripherals are included in the test fixture

Programming

• Prefer Ethernet-based programming over USB, SWD, UART or JTAG

  • Programming over Ethernet (if supported by DUT) typically is faster and more reliable

• Prefer USB-based programming over SWD, UART or JTAG

  • Programming over USB (if supported by DUT) typically is faster and more reliable

• Prefer programming over CMSIS-DAP SWD programmer, if supported by DUT and SWD is required.

  • Avoid PLT built-in SWD or JTAG signals for production programming
